Void or correct

Voiding cancels the invoice. Correcting changes amounts with a new invoice and another number. Do not void only to fix a price. If the VeriFactu record had already been sent, voiding carries a cancellation record. The detail of the corrective invoice is in the corrective invoice.

Two different paths

Royal Decree 1619/2012 builds the correction as another invoice, which refers to the original and does not reuse its number. It is for lowering or correcting an amount. Voiding is leaving the whole invoice without effect. Royal Decree 1007/2023 chains the records: if the invoice’s record already went to the Tax Agency, cancelling it requires a cancellation record, not a deletion. Using voiding to change a price breaks the series and hides the correction.

  • Correct: new number, new amounts, the original remains.
  • Void: the invoice is left without effect.
  • Record already sent: a cancellation record, not a deletion.

The app separates the two steps

Factura Fácil can issue the corrective invoice when the change is in the amounts. If you void an invoice whose VeriFactu record was already sent, the app sends the cancellation record. You do not need to void in order to adjust a price: that is what the corrective invoice is for.

Common questions

Do I void the invoice to change the price?

No. A change of amount is done with a corrective invoice, with a new number. Voiding cancels the invoice.

What if the record was already sent?

When you void, the app sends a cancellation record. Deleting the PDF is not that record.
