Electronic certificate to send VeriFactu
The billing record that goes to the Spanish Tax Agency is signed with your certificate. In Factura Fácil that certificate is a PFX or P12 file and its password.
Which file to connect
Use the individual or representative certificate you already use on the Tax Agency site, exported as .pfx or .p12. On a phone you bring it from a computer and pick it when you tap Connect. A screenshot does not work. The password is the one you set when you exported the file.
- Without a certificate you can still issue the invoice and the PDF.
- Sending the record to the Tax Agency waits until the certificate is connected.
- When it expires, sending stops until you connect the new one.
What the app uses it for
Once it is connected you can turn on automatic sending when you issue, or leave sending manual. The same certificate lets you generate the BOE file for a tax form and import it on the Tax Agency site. Importing that file does not file the return: you or your gestoría submit it. The overview is VeriFactu for autónomos.
Common questions
Does Factura Fácil issue the certificate?
No. The FNMT or another provider accepted by the Tax Agency issues it. The app only uses it after you connect it.
Do I need it to invoice a private customer?
Not to issue the PDF. You do need it to send the VeriFactu record. Until 1 July 2027 autónomos are in a trial period.
