Two QR codes that are not the same

The VeriFactu QR lets the customer check the invoice in the Tax Agency’s system. A payment QR, whether Bizum, card, Stripe, or MONEI, collects money. They do not describe the same thing and they do not stand in for each other.

Check or collect

Royal Decree 1007/2023 ties the invoice code to the record, so the person who receives it can match it. That QR does not start a payment. A Bizum QR, a card QR, or a gateway QR such as Stripe or MONEI leads to collection and does not evidence the VeriFactu record. Putting only the payment one does not meet the check, and putting only the VeriFactu one does not collect the invoice.

  • VeriFactu QR: check the invoice.
  • Payment QR: Bizum, card, Stripe, or MONEI.
  • One does not do the other’s job.

The two can sit together

Factura Fácil can show the VeriFactu QR on the invoice and, separately, a payment QR if you have connected that collection. They are two codes. Scanning the payment one does not query the record, and scanning the VeriFactu one does not charge the card.

Common questions

Does a Bizum QR meet VeriFactu?

No. Bizum collects. The VeriFactu QR is the one that lets the customer check the invoice. They are not the same code.

Does the VeriFactu QR pay the invoice?

No. It is for the check. Collection, if you add it, goes on another QR, such as Stripe or MONEI.
